We have received in the past two weeks, Christmas cards. Thank you for sending us a Christmas card. We enjoy getting mail and enjoy receiving these cards.
Thanks for another reminder of something else I enjoyed in Cameroon: Christmas cards arriving from early December up up until Easter; and, Easter greetings arriving almost up until my June birthday!
Card senders and recipients beware: cards with an age number on the front can dramatically change friendship dynamics in a high-context, hierarchical, age-respecting culture !
Other mail made it through the months and across the miles mostly courtesy of intercontinental travellers. Yeh! for ‘handcarry’.
Christmas should be celebrated all year long, don’t you think? After all – to declare God is with us is not just for December – it is for all year!
