Jonah sold raffle tickets as a fundraiser for his Choir group for a chance to be drawn for a five minute grocery grab or one of four $100 gift cards. I was called on December 2nd saying that I was a finalist to either win the grocery grab or gift card and needed to be at our local Cosentino’s Price Chopper at 7:30 a.m. on December 9th. I was excited that I would either win a gift card or the grocery grab. I was expecting a gift card and was excited about it.
Saturday David, Jonah, Denise (my sister) and I (Joshua was still sleeping) were at the store by 7:30 a.m. They drew the fifth place winner, then fourth, third and my name still wasn’t drawn so it was down to me and one other person. Then her name was drawn next making me the grand prize winner.
I was given three minutes to run through the main aisles of the store to grab as much as possible, one minute for the meat department and one minute for the health & beauty section (some exceptions applied – no gift cards, batteries, alcohol, tobacco, razors). I felt like I was on a TV show.
Here’s the video David taped of the Grocery Grab.
It was so much fun and was on an adrenaline rush for most of the day. Below are pictures of the grand total and the full carts – I still can’t believe it!
Totally awesome. Great job even if you didn’t get the coffee.
This was so much fun watching you racing around the store and filling your carts. I’ll bet Joshua was kicking himself for sleeping in and missing all the excitement.
Congratulations! It was so much fun watching you gather all the groceries. Couldn’t have been a better person to win. Great job Deanna!!!!
That was awesome. I’m so glad David recorded it!!
