Thanks for another reminder of something else I enjoyed in Cameroon: Christmas cards arriving from early December up up until Easter; and, Easter greetings arriving almost up until my June birthday!
Card senders and recipients beware: cards with an age number on the front can dramatically change friendship dynamics in a high-context, hierarchical, age-respecting culture !
Other mail made it through the months and across the miles mostly courtesy of intercontinental travellers. Yeh! for ‘handcarry’.
